Poppi Zoo Park

At the Poppi Zoo Park, visitors can see wild animals in their natural habitat:

brown bears, lynxes, otters, owls, and many others. The first of its kind, this 50-hectare park is dedicated exclusively to the most significant species of European wildlife.

The zoo was founded in 1973 by a passionate veterinarian and has been dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered species ever since. Nestled in the picturesque Casentino mountain valley, the wildlife park is a popular destination for families all year round.

An immersive experience with animals

Anyone who has always wanted to look a lynx in the eye, meet a shy badger, or admire large birds of prey can take the two-kilometer loop trail. You can also approach the brown bear and feed it with the special food provided by the park. The Poppi Zoo is also home to waterfowl, which can be observed from the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, located in the center of the park. Surrounded by pine, oak, and chestnut trees, it offers pleasant shade to residents and visitors alike. In addition to the many animals, there is a playground, a restaurant, and a picnic area. The park also offers educational workshops and guided tours.
