Museum of Football

Jerseys, balls, trophies, and medals: the Football Museum chronicles the history of Italian soccer from the postwar period to the present day, featuring a wide range of artifacts.

Photos and videos capture the emotions, recalling the highs and lows of the ‘Azzurri’.

The museum is located at a landmark for Italian soccer: the Coverciano Technical Training Center. In addition to its various exhibits, the building also houses an official merchandise store. Visitors also have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the training field where their soccer idols honed their skills.

Historical Overview

A tour of the museum takes visitors past the museum’s oldest artifact, the pennant from the friendly match between Italy and Austria held in Milan in 1922. Other special exhibits include the jerseys of the Italian national team, world champions in 1934 and 1938, Pelé’s jersey from the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, and the jersey of Silvio Piola, one of the most prolific scorers in the history of Italian soccer. You can also admire the mascot CIAO, who accompanied the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

Beyond Sports

A separate section is dedicated to the history of the Italian Footballers’ Association, from its founding in 1898 to the present day. The museum’s goal is not only to bring the past to life, but also to convey the broader importance of soccer and sports for society, with a particular focus on values such as solidarity, fairness, and overcoming barriers.
